My Story
I am a Postgraduate Master’s Resident offering individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents. I completed my graduate internship working with a variety of mental health concerns including substance abuse, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have always had a passion for helping others and feel that each person’s story is unique and matters.
Education & Training
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). I am also working towards obtaining my Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) licensure. I have worked in an outpatient treatment center that specialized in treating diverse populations who were primarily court-mandated including those with substance abuse along with adolescents.

Approach to Clinical Work
My approach to therapy is that one therapeutic treatment does not work for everyone equally and everyone’s story is unique and important. My goal is to be an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and empowering environment while creating a caring and trusting therapeutic relationship. Clients should be able to find their own voice and make the best decision for themselves while increasing their personal awareness. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-focused.

Personal
I am a military spouse to my husband of over 25 years and we have 4 awesome children and 3 fur babies. Being a military spouse and military BRAT, I have traveled the world and learned about different cultures. We recently moved to Colorado from Texas and love to explore and learn about this beautiful state. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family going to museums, trying different ethnic foods, baking, crafting, interior design, and traveling.
